Sunday morning - Pretzel Rolls

What do you do on a Sunday after Germany won the second World Cup game? Right, sleeping in and thinking about pretzel rolls. Well, why not go farther and make them? Although they need some time to rise - about one hour - they are easy to make. Knead milk, butter, sugar, yeast, salt, and flour into a smooth dough. Let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled. Shape into rolls, let rest for 20 minutes then boil for 1 minute on each side in a solution of water and baking soda. Put on a baking sheet which is either lined with parchment paper or sprayed with cooking oil. Brush each bun with egg wash, cut cross wise with a sharp knife, and sprinkle with salt. Bake at 400F / 200C for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 350F / 180C and bake for an additional 12 minutes.
